Several of you have gotten started on the Scavenger Hunt. Looks great! When you post photos, it’s best to use the built-in photo posting within Twitter itself, if possible, rather than 3rd-party options like Twitpic, Instagram, YFrog, etc.

Here’s why: One annoying feature of Twitter is that some tweets never show up in search. Tweets with links to outside sources sometimes doesn’t show up when you do a search, especially if they’re posted from new accounts. If your tweet links to a photo on a 3rd-party service, the tweet may not show up when someone searches for the #JRLWeb hashtag. (I’ll still be able to see it in my timeline, so it’s not a problem for me, but students at other schools may never see your tweet.)

Also, whenever you search for the #JRLWeb hashtag to see other schools’ tweets, make sure you select the option to see “All” tweets, rather than just the “Top” tweets.
